s1.e3 = Kyle

I appreciated the recap, since it's been two weeks... I enjoyed the montage about William ( Kyle  Randall's bio-dad) on the bus and how his writing slowly deteriorated.  I felt like the song fit nicely, but I haven't looked it up yet to listen again. Kate's singing was pretty, and I lol'd for reals when she popped Toby in the face for scaring her.  I wonder what the pancakes taste like... I've seen spoilers somewhere, but doesn't Bec know about William?  Didn't she look him up and tell him to stay away?  Hmmm.  I wonder when the truth will come out.  Whelp, didn't have to wait too long - she saw him across the street as they leave the hospital with the babies!! Same song for the montage with the babies, and then boom! silence. I liked that transition. A bit weird that the doctor offered to watch the babies, but very sweet.  I had to remind myself that this was pre-cell phone days and Jack can't send a text to Rebecca to say he's taking a nap....

I liked the Big 3 group chant and how happy it made the mom, even though she was annoyed with the dad.  "Need me to show you where my mouth is", or some such  <3  Later when they did the chant as adults, my eyes teared up. I like how Miguel called him out for being a POS at the bar, but I was surprised and unhappy to see him show up at the very end!!  I guess I wanted Bec to stay true to her love... It was hard to watch the bits with Kate and it makes me wonder how I am doing at teaching my own kids to have a healthy relationship with food. I laughed a lot when William was talking to the two little girls about vices, and how you need to be 7 years old before you try cocaine.

“There's no lemon so sour that you can't make something resembling lemonade.” https://www.12up.com/view?id=this-is-us-facts-12u I've seen this before, but I don't remember when that was.  Neither does Hulu. I don't dislike any of the characters, maybe the dramatics of Kevin a bit...?   Toby is funny, and I hope he is a nice guy because I want Kate to be happy. I don't know what to expect really, but I've heard this is a good show.
